About Rhonda

When I was a fine arts major in college we used to look down on the
"graphic design" majors and art education majors, thinking it wasn't
"real" art. And certainly "crafting" wasn't considered art. What did we
know? A year after college I became a graphic designer at an advertising
agency and loved it. And I have always been crafty in some form or
another. If I could use my hands to make it, I wanted to try it.
I quit my graphic design career after my first child was born and to
fill the creative void I became even more involved with crafts. I
discovered scrapbooking a few years later and dabbled in that for a
short while before I discovered stamping. I was sidetracked for 5 years
by my Stampin' Up! career as a demonstrator. Went out and use other
products I rediscovered scrapbooking and by that time it had boomed and
there were wonderful embellishments (not just stickers, stencils and
decorative scissors), papers on just about every subject, and lots to
choose from.
I always wanted to teach art and I believe that each person has some
creativity they can tap into, if they can just get past the mental
hurdle of thinking that they aren't talented. Working at Just 4 Fun has
been a dream come true for me. I love the work and I love to teach. I
look forward to everyday that I get to work. I always leave feeling
better than when I walked in the door.
I have been published in several magazines such as "Rubber Stamper",
"Stamper's Sampler", "Somerset Memories", and I have sold work to Daisy
D's Company. I was also on the design team for
scrapbookdreamer.com for a
year. I have recently begun scrapbooking for individuals and find that
very rewarding and fun.
My husband has gone back to school to get a degree in art, and recently
won "Juror's Choice" award for a painting that was accepted into an art
show. By day he is a computer programmer. Thankfully he understands my
"need" to be creative. My sons are 11 and 10 and my daughter is 8. They
love having two parents who are artists. I see their potential shining
through already.
